T-Scanner: grain quality in real time
NIR sampling probe for automatic monitoring of grain quality in trucks and railcars.
T-Scanner transforms the sampling process into a source of high-value information. As the sampler probe enters and exits the load, the system performs continuous spectral scanning of the grain column, providing quality data by section, by probe and by complete truck.
Exclusive innovation of Jorgensen — the only one of its kind in the world.
Automatic NIR technology integrated into the probe
T-Scanner is a patented automatic NIR system exclusive to Jorgensen, integrated into the sampler probe. It enables real-time monitoring of grain quality in trucks and railcars, without direct contact with the grain, without chemical reagents and without interfering with the normal sampling process. No other company in the world offers this technology.
The step-by-step process
Representation of continuous NIR scanning by the T-Scanner probe over the grain column.
- 1
Truck enters
The truck enters the sampling lane. The operator starts the process and enters the consignment note, optionally using a barcode reader or manual input.
- 2
Probe descends
The T-Scanner probe enters the grain load.
- 3
Automatic sample detection
A proximity sensor detects the presence of sample covering the measurement window and automatically starts spectral acquisition.
- 4
Continuous scanning
Scanning remains active throughout the descent and ascent of the probe, covering the entire grain column.
- 5
Information per probe
At the end of each probe, the system reports the averages per measured parameter, by upper, middle and lower section, and for the total probe.
- 6
Repeat for all probes
The system records all measurements per section and per probe until the operator closes the truck.
- 7
Truck close-out
When the truck is finished, the system displays the general averages per parameter, per section and per total truck.
What makes T-Scanner unique
What it can help to control
Available parameters may vary depending on the grain, calibration and system configuration.
Results by level, by probe and by truck
The operator's touch screen shows the averages of each parameter as the probe progresses, with detail by upper, middle and lower section, sample status and a measurement history.
For plants, storage facilities and terminals
Speed during campaign
Allows processing quality information during the normal reception operation.
Greater representativeness
The system scans the entire column and all probes, offering a wider view than a single spot sample.
Spot detection
Helps detect heterogeneity, moisture spots or off-spec quality.
Traceability
Links the quality measurement to the consignment note and origin of the load.
Real-time classification
Helps decide which silo to send each load to based on quality bands.
Historical data
Generates records and statistics useful for analysis, planning and decision-making.
Operational safety
Reduces manual handling and enables working with information from the console.
Commercial optimization
Allows projecting purchases, sales, storage and production with more information.
Modularized NIR spectrometry
NIR spectrometric technology is modularized and integrated into the Jorgensen automatic sampler system. The optical sensor is mounted at the lower end of the probe, communication between sensor and console uses the CAN protocol, and the NIR energy signal travels via special optical fiber. The central command console is installed next to the operator and includes a touch screen to start, record and close trucks or railcars.

It doesn't just measure: it turns reception into data
T-Scanner doesn't just measure: it turns grain reception into a source of data. The information obtained allows building regional quality maps, improving traceability, planning storage, projecting purchases and sales, optimizing production and increasing safety in raw material classification.
The only technology of its kind in the world
T-Scanner is a patented innovation exclusive to Jorgensen — no other company in the world has this technology. It is an Argentine development resulting from the partnership between TecnoCientífica SA and Jorgensen SA. It has a granted US patent and international patent pending.
